A Complete bath wastes
When you’re renovating your bathroom, there are several different factors to take into account. There will be an array of different products to consider, such as drains, bathtubs and various other fixtures. One of the smaller but no less important choices is the type of bath waste and plug that you install in your bathroom. These small details are often overlooked but can have a big impact on your everyday life. A waste and plug combination must be chosen carefully because it has direct implications on how much time you spend cleaning your bathroom, how often you need to unblock the drain or even whether you can have guests over for dinner.
If you install a bath waste that doesn’t fit your bath waste, it can cause leakage at the plug hole. This can cause water to leak out and create a puddle on the floor, which can be extremely messy and inconvenient. If you don’t have the right type of plug, water can also leak out of the bath waste itself, which can cause the wood to rot and crack.
The Different Types of bath wastes
Normal bath wastes
A normal plug and waste provide a simple grate that allows water to drain away but prevents large items from doing so. A separate plug is inserted or removed to seal or drain the bathtub.
Pop-Up bath wastes
A plug and waste can be sealed and drained simply by pressing down on the plug. The plug will "pop up" to drain water, and pressing down on it will seal the waste. There is little risk of losing the plug because water will drain whether or not the plug is removed.
Before selecting a Pop-Up bath waste for your bathtub, we recommend ensuring that you have access to the bath waste plumbing from underneath. If you don't, we recommend a Pop-Down bath waste
Pop Down bath waste
Instead of popping up to drain water, these plugs "pop down" when sealed and remain flush when open. This plug is suitable for baths because there is no danger of accidental drainage from sitting or knocking the plug. Service and maintenance of these plugs and wastes are also fully removable, unlike most pop-up bath waste designs.
